"MY WORK BEGINS SPONTANEOUSLY, USUALLY WITH A REACTION TO THE MATERIALS I AM WORKING WITH. BE IT PEN & INK OR PAINT ON CANVAS. IT STARTS WITH AN INTIAL LINE OR MARK. THIS IS NOT PLANNED. WHAT EVOLVES FROM THERE, HOWEVER, IS MORE CALCULATED. IT BECOMES A SUCCESSION OF THOUGHT OUT REACTIONS, WITH COLOR, LINE ETC. ASSERTING THEMSELVES OVER THE PAGE. MOTIVATIONS FOR MY WORK INCLUDE A VARIETY OF EMOTIONS. RECURRING SUBJECTS INCLUDE TIME, MOVEMENT, SEXUALITY AND INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS.
THE END RESULT IS A PRODUCT OF AN INNER STATE."
